About Me

Hi there!

Thanks a bunch for visiting my blog and taking the time to look around!  My name is Rhiannon, or Rhi for short, and I’m 27, and I love to bake… duh .

This blog (formerly icingandcupcakes), it started about a year ago.  A year ago, when everything was fine and dandy, when I ate whatever I pleased, whenever I pleased.  Now, things are going to be a little different.  I’ve recently discovered that there are things in food that I don’t tolerate very well.  They make me sick and tired and overall just a very unhappy camper.  So I got rid of them.  This is my blog of “yummies for my tummy”, my gluten and (mostly) dairy free survival blog.  And hopefully, you’ll like my “yummies” too.

So, some things about me.

Three things I love are food, music, and movies.  If there was a musical about baking cakes I would probably be in heaven (Please, if there is one, you must tell me!).  I wish my life was a musical, and I wish I had theme music.

My favourite food would have to be chocolate cake.  But secretly, or not so secretly now, I’d be even happier with a bowl of cake batter, or cookie dough.  In fact, if I could marry cookie dough or cake batter, I probably would.  Actually, if you’re a real person, and you’re planning on proposing to me, you can totally propose to me with cookie dough.  I would be totally fine with that.  Just so you know.

I work at a cinema complex not too far from where I live.  It was my first job, and I’m pretty sure it’ll be my last.  I can’t think of doing anything else anymore.  I love it, and who wouldn’t want free movies for the rest of their lives?  The only exception to that is that I would love to have my own bakery or something along those lines… But at the moment that’s not the most realistic dream, so while I keep saving for ‘the future’, the cinemas suit me just fine.

The camera I use to take my photos is a Nikon D3100.  I bought it when I was in America recently and it was the best money I think I’ve ever spent.  It’s the first DSLR camera I’ve owned, so I’m still getting used to it.  Every time I use it I discover a new feature that I didn’t even realise it had.  With the help of a few books and tutorials (and lots of practice), I’m hoping one day I’ll be taking food pics as good as the pro’s.

I love taking my camera on adventures too.  It’s not just resigned to a life of kitchen labor.  Sometimes I take it out into the sunshine and let it run around taking photos of pretty flowers and clouds and cats.  I’m nice like that.
Well, that’s all for now.  I’ll be back with more soon.  Until then, stay tuned for more yummies.
