This afternoon/evening I attended the wedding of a friend, and it was truly beautiful. But, to be perfectly honest, the highlight of my night was being told by my bestie that she’d made a cake just for me so I didn’t miss out (and that’s on top of making the actual wedding cake too!). I’m not going to lie, I nearly cried (tears of joy). I am so lucky to have a friend who is so thoughtful and mindful of my food intolerances. And I definitely stuffed my face with cupcake as soon as I got home.
This week I have learnt many things. Firstly, never stick your finger – or any other body part for that matter – into boiling sugar. And if you do happen to stick your finger into boiling sugar, don’t stick it into your mouth! Do the smart thing, and stick it under cold running water. For 20 minutes, coz you know, that’s what they tell you to do in first aid.
